Contractors

From general contractors to specialty trades, we build programs that satisfy job contracts and protect your crew, your tools and your reputation.

Contractors face risk on every job site, and the contracts you sign often dictate the limits and endorsements you need before you can start work. We help you meet those requirements without paying for coverage you don't need.

We also handle the certificates of insurance your clients and general contractors ask for, usually within one business day.

Common questions

Why do clients keep asking me for a certificate of insurance?

A certificate proves you carry the coverage a contract requires. Many clients also need to be named as additional insured. Request one anytime through our Support page and we'll turn it around quickly.

Are my tools covered by my general liability policy?

No. General liability covers damage you cause to others. Your own tools and equipment need inland marine coverage, which can follow them from job to job.

Do my subcontractors need their own insurance?

Yes. Uninsured subcontractors can be added to your workers' comp and liability premiums at audit. Collecting their certificates before work starts protects you.
