Homeowners

Your home is likely your biggest investment. A homeowners policy protects the structure, everything inside and you if someone is hurt on your property.

Not all homeowners policies are equal. We look closely at replacement cost, deductibles and endorsements like water backup so the coverage actually holds up after a loss.

What's covered

  • Dwelling

Rebuilds your home after covered events like fire, wind and hail.

  • Other structures

Covers detached garages, fences and sheds.

  • Personal property

Covers furniture, clothing, electronics and more, at home or away.

  • Loss of use

Pays for temporary housing and extra expenses while your home is repaired.

  • Personal liability

Protects you if someone is injured on your property or you damage theirs.

  • Water backup & add-ons

Optional coverage for sewer and drain backup, scheduled valuables and service lines.

Who it's for

  • First-time buyers
  • Growing families
  • Long-time homeowners
  • Landlords of single homes

Common questions

Does homeowners insurance cover flooding?

No. Standard homeowners policies exclude flood. A separate flood policy is needed, even outside high-risk zones.

Is a basement water backup covered?

Not automatically. Sewer and drain backup is an inexpensive endorsement we recommend for most Michigan homes.

Will bundling with auto save money?

Usually. Most carriers offer multi-policy discounts, and we'll compare bundled and separate options.
